AirJourney, a company that organizes and leads journeys for pilots flying their own planes, has launched Easy Air Journey, which files eAPIS documents, as well as General Declarations forms.
As of May 18, 2009, every private pilot flying an aircraft in and out of the United States is required to submit an eAPIS Manifest to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Air Journey created a DHS-approved Internet application, which allows you to prepare your eAPIS Manifest easier and faster by saving all your aircraft, pilot, passenger, and past manifests information.
With Easy AirJourney you can also copy and invert manifests in case you are flying the same legs back and forth, add and edit aircraft, pilot, and passenger’s information. In addition, the service offers General Declarations forms (Gen Decs) needed to land into a foreign country. These “Gen Decs” will be completed automatically by creating an eAPIS Manifest. Checklists are also available for flying to the Bahamas, Caribbean, Cayman Islands, and Mexico.
As with the official eAPIS website, Easy Air Journey is a web-based application available anywhere in the world. This way, you can retrieve your saved information and file your eAPIS manifest on any computer, company officials note. In the event you do not have Internet access, the Air Journey team will file your eAPIS manifest for you, officials add.
A subscription costs $99. The company is offering a free trial.
Since 1998, the Air Journey Team has shared the joy of adventure with fellow pilots. We have flown escorted Air Journeys around the World to destinations such as the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Canada, Central America, Europe, South America, and many others.
