Travis Vallin joins Jviation

By Janice Wood · January 14, 2010 ·

JVIATION TRAVIS VALLINFormer Colorado state aviation director Travis Vallin has joined Jviation, a Denver-based planning, engineering, and construction administration firm that focuses solely on aviation-related projects, as vice president/senior program manager.

Previously with the Colorado Department of Transportation Aeronautics Division, where he was named to the director’s position in 1998, Vallin served as the point of contact for the governor, state legislature and Colorado Department of Transportation on all aviation issues throughout the state. His expertise in understanding complex airspace issues, gained from working on collaborative projects such as The Colorado Surveillance Project (which added wide area multilateration (WAM) as a tool to keep airplanes safer in the skies above mountain terrain), and knowledge of the FAA’s NextGen and emerging radar technologies is a key asset to both Jviation and the aviation community, company officials note.

Vallin is a licensed private pilot, FAA Certified Airport Safety Inspector and an FAA Certified Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter.
