May 15, 2010, will be a big day at the Clermont County/Sporty’s Airport (I69) in Ohio. Not only is it Sporty’s Annual Fly-In, but it’s also the celebration of International Learn to Fly Day.
“We’re challenging pilots to come to our Fly-In and bring at least one friend who may be interested in flying,” says Sporty’s President Michael Wolf. “We’ll have a full complement of flight instructors on hand to brief potential pilots and give an on-the-spot introductory flight.”
Sporty’s Sweepstakes airplane, a 2010 Cessna Skycatcher with Garmin’s G300 avionics package, will be awarded at noon. One Sporty’s customer will end the day as the owner of this brand-new airplane.
Sporty’s Fly-In is now in its sixth year. Sporty’s staff has invited industry exhibitors and has planned seminars, tours and other special events for the fly-in. FAA safety seminars will be hosted by Garmin, Bendix/King, Aspen Avionics, Air Mod and more.
“As always, the entire day is free – even the lunch,” adds Wolf. “We’ll be serving up hundreds of free hot dogs to attendees.”
Exhibitors include Garmin, Honeywell, Bose, Sandy’s Airpark at Sporty’s, ACR, SkyOx, Air Mod, Arctic Air, Aspen Avioncs, Avidyne, Avmap, Cessna, Clarity Aloft, DAC International, Dial Eastern Aircraft Painting, Cardinal Helicopter Training, EAA 174, L3, Lightspeed Headsets, Logbook Pro, Parrish O’Neil, Sigtronics, Telex, Tri-State Warbird Museum, Winslow Life Rafts, Ultra Electronics, Aviation Exploring, University of Cincinnati, Eastern Cincinnati Aviation, Cincinnati Avionics, Wright Bros. Catalog, Sporty’s Cessna Sales, and The Sporty’s Foundation. Representatives will be on hand to demonstrate their products and answer questions. There will also be a static display featuring new Cessna aircraft, including the Cessna 350.
Sporty’s representatives will be on hand to talk with attendees about various products and services offered by Sporty’s including flight training at Sporty’s Academy, the 2010 line of Cessna single-engine aircraft, homes available at Sandy’s Airpark, Aviation Exploring, Cincinnati Avionics and the University of Cincinnati Professional Pilot Program.
The event will be held rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
