In support of International Learn to Fly Day, which was announced at AirVenture 2009, Pilot Journey has launched LearnToFlyDay.com, a website that will list Learn to Fly Day events across the country.
Through LearnToFlyDay.com, Pilot Journey, a web-based referral service that helps link students with flight schools, will provide a collection of services at no charge to flight schools, instructors, EAA chapters and any organization promoting a Learn to Fly Day event. This also includes marketing materials, PowerPoint presentations and local news media promotion. “Pilot Journey will use its extensive database of prospective pilots to help drive attendees to each Learn to Fly Day event, at no charge to the event organizers,” said Gary Bradshaw, president of Pilot Journey.
Pilot Journey has been preparing for Learn to Fly Day since August, just weeks after the announcement was made at AirVenture 2009, he added. “This event is critical to the future of our flight schools and general aviation and has been a priority here at Pilot Journey the last six months,” Bradshaw added.
During the 2009 holiday shopping season Pilot Journey advertised on leading radio stations in markets such as Chicago, New York, Dallas and many more, increasing Discovery Flight sales 153% over last year. Bradshaw says he now hopes those buyers will attend a local Learn to Fly Day event and obtain “the life-changing benefits of being a pilot.”
