Husky tailsprings available at Aircraft Spruce

By Janice Wood · February 9, 2010 ·

husky 2The Husky tailspring is now available from Aircraft Spruce.

The three-leaf tailspring, mounting bracket and hardware are included in one kit, which is a direct replacement for all Sky International (Aviat Husky) tailsprings.

When a tailspring is “sprung,” it puts the camber angle of the tailwheel into a negative position, Aircraft Spruce officials said, noting this causes the tailwheel to shimmy and to be hard to steer, which increases the wear. A new tailspring eliminates the negative position of the tailwheel and the wear caused from a weak tailspring. Price: $219.
