In less than half a year since the opening of IMCClubs.org nationwide, the club has admitted more than 500 members and is welcoming the 16th chapter to its ranks.
The newest chapter, IMC Club of Atlanta, is based at Kennesaw, Georgia, and hosted by the SimTrain simulator facility. Along with its 25-seat briefing rooms with ceiling-mounted “in focus” projectors, the facility houses a full-motion Cirrus simulator.
IMCClubs.org, a voluntary organization, is headquartered at Norwood Flight Academy, Norwood, Massachusetts. Its goal is to coach, train and mentor pilots to fly in actual instrument meteorological conditions. Regular bi-weekly meetings where pilots and instructors have the opportunity to discuss topics related to instrument flying are combined with flights where members fly missions designed on a graduated scale of complexity.
