The FAA gave approval Feb. 26 to AVSeminars to offer the nation’s first CFI Renewal through a “live” webinar. The process of renewing a CFI certificate is “virtually” identical to attending a live FIRC, without the travel and hotel costs, company officials said, noting all that’s needed are a PC or Mac, a web-cam and a boomset.
The webinar launch is scheduled for April 3-4 with 24 attendee positions available. CFIs who have renewal months of April, May, June and July can register at AVSeminars.com where attendees will find full information concerning the webinar procedure. AVSeminars also offers live Flight Instructor Refresher Clinics (FIRCs) presented by The ALPHAVICTOR Companies with a visit to Fort Lauderdale on April 17-18.
FIRC registration fee for either the webinar or “live”presentation is $69, which includes the FAA Temporary Airman’s Certificate.
