On Feb. 20, California Power Systems (CPS) held a first-of-its-kind Rotax Renewal Course, welcoming back the elite of the Rotax maintenance technicians, according to officials with the San Leandro, Calif.-based company. These technicians have reached 24 months of field service and were back to renew their ratings under the LSA directives for Rotax Aircraft engines. This one-day course was designed to introduce all that is new with the Rotax product line over the past two years, keeping these technicians on the cutting edge of Rotax maintenance, CPS officials said.
In addition to the renewal class, CPS also hosted several other classes, including 2-Stroke Maintenance, Rotax 912 Service School, Rotax Maintenance School, and the new three-day 900 Series Heavy Maintenance School. The 900 series school focuses in major repairs to the Rotax 912 and 914 Turbo series engines plus Rotax’s FLYdat digital instrument and information center.
