TeamKitfox.com reaches 1,000 members

By Janice Wood · March 8, 2010 ·

KitfoxTeamKitfox.com, an online community for builders, owners, and prospective purchasers, recently surpassed its 1,000th registered member. With more than 4,500 Kitfox kits sold worldwide, membership is expected to increase substantially in the coming months, say developers of the website, which launched in 2008.

The centerpiece of TeamKitfox.com is a set of forums where users can exchange information and embed photos with posts. The permanently archived information threads make the forums a valuable knowledge base and resource for both owners and prospective builders, according to developers.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2009, Kitfox has the second largest installed base in the industry. It has more kits sold and aircraft flying than any other type except Van’s Aircraft RV series. Along with the current Model 7 Super Sport kit, Kitfox Aircraft offers an S-LSA for those wanting to fly a new Kitfox right now.

While not financially related, TeamKitfox.com is operated in cooperation with the owners of Kitfox Aircraft LLC, John and Debra McBean. John, Debra and the Kitfox staff are frequent contributors in the forums.

Forum moderators are Mark Smith, a Kitfox Model 7 builder/owner and Dan Billingsley, currently building a Model 4 Kitfox.

The site is free for members and guests.
