Mid-Continent Instruments–West in Van Nuys, Calif., now has the capability to reach international customers without delays. Bryan Miner, in his role as Chief Inspector, is the latest member of the company’s Organizational Designation Authorization (ODA).
Miner is authorized to issue export airworthiness approvals for Class II products shipped overseas on behalf of the FAA. This allows same-day shipping, Mid-Continent officials said.
“ODA was essential for our location,” said Miner. “We now have the immediate ability to gain export approval on site and ship overseas, avoiding delays to our international customers.”
In order to receive ODA, companies must have extensive experience working with the FAA and demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of their regulations, policies and procedures. Mid-Continent Instruments in Wichita, Kan., was the central region’s first repair facility to achieve this approval.
