The AirNautic Watch Co. has released the AN-24M, a 24-hour watch that marries the functionality of a pilot’s watch with the strength of a diver’s watch, according to company officials.
Designed from the ground up to incorporate the best features of both types of watches, the watch is hand made by Swiss watchmakers and is offered in a limited edition of 50 pieces, company officials add.
The AN-24M features an ETA 6497 manual wound movement that has been customized for 24-hour operation.
AirNautic has wrapped the movement in a 44mm steel case that has been sandblasted then cold carbon hardened to approximately four times the hardness of standard, 316 stainless steel. Only one other Swiss watch company in the world uses this process, on one of its dive watches, to increase corrosion and scratch resistance, company officials claim.
“All Airnautic watches are designed for active pilots who are hard on their equipment and need a watch that will be flying as long as they will,” says Mitchell Feig, president.
Prices start at $999.

Prices are decent — not great. They do not use the high-end “elaboré” or top movements in this watch, or in the automatic AN-24. The hardened case is nice.
These look like great watches for a great price. Expecially cool for those into aviation!
