Wicks Aircraft cuts package prices

By Janice Wood · March 24, 2010 ·

Wicks Aircraft Supply is now offering a 10% reduction in price to anyone submitting an order for a complete materials package for a scratchbuild aircraft project between now and the end of Oshkosh. The order would have to include all wood, steel, composites, aluminum, hardware, and electrical wire used for building the airframe from the firewall back, company officials said.

Exempt from the initial purchase are the powerplant, covering materials (if fabric), upholstery, panel instruments and paint. Wicks officials say the company stocks enough construction materials to be able to supply a total materials package for such popular scratchbuild designs as the Pietenpol Air Camper, the Breezy, Tailwind, Baby Ace, and Acro Sport. Some plans include complete materials lists. Wicks expects to be able to ship most complete packages within a week or two.

“The objective is to stimulate more scratchbuild aircraft projects,” said Scott Wick, president. “When we can pull all the materials required in a few days, it saves money for the builder and us. It also makes the construction process much easier when everything that’s needed is already in the builder’s shop.”

The offer only extends to the primary materials package and is good through the end of AirVenture 2010 (Aug. 1). For more information: WicksAircraft.com or 800-221-9425.
