Electric Aircraft Symposium slated

By Janice Wood · March 29, 2010 ·

The Comparative Aircraft Flight Efficiency (CAFE) Electric Aircraft Symposium IV will be held April 23 and 24 in Sonoma County, California. The symposium is expected to bring together experts from NASA, Boeing, major universities, and battery and solar manufacturers for an historic meeting on all aspects of electric-powered flight, according to organizers.

Devoted mainly to the future of small personal aircraft, the meeting will network enthusiasts, homebuilt aircraft builders, scientists, Green Flight Challenge teams and other visionaries with its experts for one and a half days of presentations and discussions. How to win the $1.5 million NASA/CAFE Green Flight Challenge, as well as several new concepts and designs that promise to transform aviation, will debut during the symposium, which includes the latest on batteries, solar panels, motors, high tech structures, drag reduction, advanced flight decks, STOL and more, organizers say.
