Gulf Coast Avionics has long been involved in the design, fabrication and installation of custom panel upgrades. Over the last several years, the Lakeland, Florida-based company, has provided those services to a wide variety of aircraft from kit-built aircraft to warbirds to piston and turbine powered business and personal aircraft.
Gulf Coast Avionics has showcased two of its latest custom panel installations – one in a Piper Seneca V and the other in a Twin Commander 690B. The “before and after” pictures (below) of the two panels provide dramatic evidence of the improvements that can be achieved in the upgrade process, according to Rick Garcia, president of Gulf Coast Avionics.
For the Seneca V, the upgrade included the following: Garmin G600 Primary Flight Display w/Synthetic Vision and Chart View; Garmin GMA 347 Audio Panel; Garmin GNS 530W w/TAWS; Relocated Flight Director and HIS; Custom Cut, Painted, and Silk Screened Panel.

For the Twin Commander 690B, the upgrade included: G600 PFD/MFD System w/Chart View; GMA 347 Audio Panel; GNS 530W; GNS 430W; Dual GTX 327; Avidyne EX500 MFD/Radar; TAS 610 Traffic System; Complete Co-Pilot Flight Director Instruments; and Custom Powder Coated Panel

“The choices and options open to aircraft owners and operators are greater today than ever before,” Garcia said. “With the products currently available, an aircraft owner can choose just about any level of sophistication, capability, and price when deciding how to upgrade his panel.”
