Precision Aircraft named sponsor of The Green Flight Project

By Janice Wood · May 9, 2010 ·

Bye Energy, Inc. has added Precision Aircraft & Engine Services, Inc. as a sponsor of The Green Flight Project. Launched earlier this year, the project involves developing an electric and electric-hybrid propulsion system (EHPS) for aviation. The initial objective of the project is to design and integrate a proof of concept EHPS into a Cessna 172 airframe.

For over 20 years, Precision Aircraft has offered maintenance and repair of GA aircraft in the Denver area. It will provide “critical support to The Green Flight Project Cessna 172 as it undergoes the transition to its new electric propulsion configuration,” according to Bye Energy officials.

“We are very pleased to be a part of aviation transportation innovation,” said Blaine Phillips, General Manager of Precision Aircraft. “This project has important implications for the future of propeller-driven general aviation aircraft.”
