B&S Aircraft celebrates 45th anniversary

By Janice Wood · May 18, 2010 ·

B&S Aircraft Parts & Accessories, an AMETEK company, celebrates 45 years of providing maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for aircraft accessories, parts and components. The list of aircraft flying with B&S overhauled components includes virtually every type from the legacy Cessna 100-series up to the B-1 Lancer bomber, according to officials with the Wichita-based company, who note B&S plans to celebrate this milestone with numerous events through internal commemorations, and with its customers.

Founded on May 17, 1965, B&S has grown to become one of the largest accessory and component MRO providers in the aviation industry. Today, the company has general aviation, commercial, government and military customers around the world. B&S became part of AMETEK, Inc. in 2007.

“Exceeding the customer’s every expectation remains our primary goal,” Richard Lewallen, B&S vice president, business unit manager said. “We take great pride in supporting the leaders in all facets of aviation and that their loyalty has enabled us to continue to grow even during these challenging economic times. The company recently added staff to both its power and fuel systems overhaul teams, and actively plans to hire more as the aviation industry continues to recover.”
