By Janice Wood · May 19, 2010 ·

Recently, Hangar63 (Banyan’s Aviation Store) and TropicAero.com hosted their annual customer appreciation day.More than 360 people attended the event and participated in the day’s activities place at Florida’s Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE).

Several vendors added to the event, including Charlie and Donna Rogers from Survival Products Inc., who demonstrated inflating a safety raft; Gene Greene from Telex, who was on-site to promote the new Ascend headset; Mark Claprood from Bose, who promoted the Bose Aviation X Headsets; and Ed Morris, who represented the ACR product line. In addition, Premier Aircraft Sales had a Mooney and a Diamond DA40 on static display along with Cessna’s 208 Caravan and a Corvalis. Several other organizations attended, including Angel Flight, Fort Lauderdale Flight Training, and the Florida Aero Club. Many attendees won drawings for prizes donated by the key event sponsors: Garmin, Bose, Avfuel, ACR Electronics, Oakley, and Telex.

Chuck Speakman, Manager of Hangar63 and TropicAero.com, organized this year’s event and, in addition to the aviation activities, added a bounce house, clown, face painting, basketball game, and cotton candy for the children to enjoy. “We were very pleased with the turnout, and we are very grateful to all of our loyal customers and vendors who support us year-round. Without great customers and great vendors, events such as this would simply not be possible,” said Speakman.

Hangar63 (Banyan’s Aviation Store) is one of the largest aviation stores in the country. The 5,000 square foot showroom offers pilot supplies, a large selection of headsets, safety gear, training materials, charts, apparel, children’s items, radio controlled aircraft, and everything a pilot or aviation enthusiast needs or wants.
