300th RV-10 flies

By Janice Wood · July 6, 2010 ·

On May 29, 2003, Van’s Aircraft launched the successful first flight of its new four-place kit, the RV-10. Now, five years later, more than 1,000 RV-10 kits have been sold and 300 have flown.

Completed by Nigel Lamping of Cheshire, United Kingdom, RV-10 G-XRVX took to the sky June 26. His “first flight” report was the 300th received by Van’s…but by the end of the month three more had flown, bringing the total to 303.

These airplanes join more than 6,500 RV-3, RV-4, RV-6/6A, RV-7/7A, RV-8/8A, RV-9/9A and RV-12 aircraft that have been completed and flown.
