Serengeti is now offering seven sunglasses models featuring Drivers Gradient lenses, which have “the perfect tint and combination of advanced features” to make the sunglasses “an essential choice for pilots,” company officials say.
Models include the Large Aviator Velocity, which feature a unique shade of amber-brown Drivers lenses engineered to create the right balance for a wide range of environmental light. Darker at the top, lighter at the top, Drivers Gradient lenses shade harsh light from above while providing a clear view of the instrument panel or dashboard below, company officials note. Like all Serengeti sunglasses, these lenses have two leading-edge features designed to eliminate eyestrain and fatigue — on the road or in the air — including:
- Photochromic technology — Automatically and continuously adjusts to changing light conditions. Engineered into the glass, photochromic properties will never wear off or wear out.
- Spectral Control — Provides high definition contrast and color enhancement by managing specific colors within the visible light spectrum, resulting in sharper focus and a clearer, crisper view.
“We’re particularly proud of the brand’s popularity with pilots. In one of the most demanding environments imaginable, the comprehensive lens technology in our sunglasses deliver the best possible optical clarity,” said Dani LaGace, director of eyewear. “The unique combination of protection from the sun, relief from harsh light, with a clear view of the instrument panel makes the Drivers gradient lens perfect for pilots and drivers alike”
