Jeppesen unveils iPad app

By Janice Wood · August 2, 2010 ·

Jeppesen introduced at AirVenture the “Jeppesen Mobile TC” terminal chart application, designed for searching and viewing terminal charts through the Apple iPad. It is  now available for download online at the Apple iPad App Store.

Jeppesen research and design experts have determined that the 9.7-inch, LED-backlit iPad viewing screen provides an optimal operating environment to view, search and update Jeppesen terminal charts, company officials said. JeppView electronic navigation charting service subscription customers will have access to Jeppesen terminal charts through the new iPad application at no additional charge.

“Our new iPad application is designed for a very specific purpose, namely for searching and viewing terminal charts,” said Tim Huegel, Director, Portfolio Management, Jeppesen Aviation. “However, the cross-market appeal of this technology will lead to further development of Jeppesen services available for the iPad in the near future, as customers provide the specifics required to serve their mobile computing needs.”
