Construction delays at the new $318 million Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP) have left local pilots “trapped in a state of limbo” at an abandoned airport site for months without fuel, maintenance or low viability radar, according to a story at NewsHerald.com in Panama City. The story, which can be read in full here, quotes AOPA’s Bill Dunn as saying:
“This is simply an inappropriate and unacceptable treatment. They keep delaying it and delaying it. Initially, the general aviation facilities were supposed to open at the same time as the commercial move (May 23). They really don’t have a solid timetable.”
