Private Pilot Checkride App now available

By Janice Wood · August 24, 2010 ·

ASA has released its Private Pilot checkride preparation app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.

The Private Pilot Checkride app is based on the Private Oral Exam Guide book by Michael Hayes, the same book series that has helped generations of students pass countless Practical Exams. The app features the questions most likely to be asked by examiners and provides succinct, ready responses. With nearly 500 questions and responses, the Private Pilot Checkride covers all the subject content that a Private Pilot candidate could expect to be tested on during a checkride, according to ASA officials.

Topics include: certificates and documents, weather, determining performance and limitations, airplane systems, cross-country flight planning, night operations, and aeromedical factors. Also included are an Applicant Practical Test Checklist and quick-reference table to the Private Pilot maneuvers and tolerances defined in the PTS.

Private Pilot Checkride is the latest in a suite of mobile aviation applications from ASA including the complete FAR/AIM, FAR/AIM Flashcards, Aviation Dictionary, and nine Prepware titles, which provide comprehensive preparation, study, and testing tools for FAA Knowledge Exams. Private Pilot Checkride is available in the iTunes App Store for $9.99. For more information: ASA2Fly.com/apps.

ANDROID! I like ASA products and use them alot. What I don’t like is APPs that are only for the APPLE “I” products. There are many of us out here who don’t care for “I” anything. Thanks.
