By Janice Wood · August 25, 2010 ·

Lincoln Electric has launched its new limited edition Iron Man VIKING auto-darkening welding helmet. This solar-powered helmet joins the 700G Series and features authorized graphics inspired by the box office hit “Iron Man 2” and comic books by Marvel.

Lincoln Electric Viking 700G autodarkening helmet, Iron Man 2 In addition to the Iron Man character graphics and signature gold and red colors, the solar-powered helmet system comes with battery assistance instead of an on/off switch, and a grind mode for weld prep and post-weld clean up. The helmet also features a 3.78 x 1.85 in. view size with continuously variable nine to 13 external shade control. Like all 700G Series helmets, this model is magnifying ‘cheater’ lens capable. It also features continuously variable delay (0.1 – 1.0 sec.) and sensitivity to adjust for different welding applications and environments. The Iron Man helmet also comes with bonus accessories, including a free Sport-Pak style welding helmet bag and Lincoln Electric bandana.

Lincoln Electric’s equipment has been featured in both the original Iron Man movie as well as the 2010 summer sequel Iron Man 2. Lincoln Electric provided POWER MIG and Precision TIG welders as well a Power Wave i400 power source and welding robot for the latest movie. The Lincoln Automation Division also provided on-set assistance to the studio’s team during the filming of Iron Man 2.
