Showing off at GMU

By Janice Wood · September 13, 2010 ·

It was a fun-filled day for pilots and aviation enthusiasts Sept. 12 when a P-51 Mustang, B-25 Bomber, Stearman bi-plane, SNJ, and other planes were on display at South Carolina’s Greenville Downtown Airport (GMU). Check out some photos of the event, which also included the Carolina Soaring Association, which had a couple of gliders and let people climb into them while association officials explained gliders work.

GMU is the busiest general aviation airport in South Carolina. It is home to more than 25 aviation-related businesses creating 453 jobs that annually contribute more than $35.2 million to the state’s economy. For more information: GreenvilleDowntownAirport.com.
