Harmony Living Centers, LLC of Stevens Point, Wis., will be abuzz for its National Assisted Living Event “Living Life,” as some residents prepare to take flight as part of an effort to help residents fulfill lifelong dreams on their “Bucket Lists.”
The goal is to recognize that living life to its full extent doesn’t stop when you enter assisted living, officials said, noting, it’s never too late to realize your goals and dreams.
Wanda Zuege and John Thompson, of Am I High Aviation, LLC, a flight training facility at the Stevens Point Municipal Airport, stepped in to give a 97-year-old World War II Vet and former paratrooper, Henry Zimmerman, a chance to reach for the sky.
Other dreams that are being fulfilled during this event include a date with an eligible bachelor, a room full of pink roses, an evening of dancing and elegant dining, being serenaded with the song “Unforgettable” by a college voice major, attending sporting events and more. “I’m not sure who is going to get more enjoyment: The residents having their dreams fulfilled or us watching their joy, ” said Julie Iris, Harmony Activities coordinator.
