FWB open house, fly-in this weekend

By Janice Wood · October 5, 2010 ·

AeroPremier Branson West, the FBO at the Branson West Municipal Airport (FWB) in Missouri, has slated a variety of events to commemorate the opening of its new facilities. A ribbon cutting will be held Thursday, Oct. 7, while pilots are expected to begin arriving Friday, Oct. 8, as fly-in activities begin on Saturday, Oct. 9.

Thursday’s grand opening will be the official ribbon cutting for the new Terminal Office and Maintenance Hangar. The event will feature speeches from various political and governmental representatives who were instrumental in the building of the airport and FBO facility.

The Open House will begin on Saturday. Pilots are invited to fly-in and visit the new facility. AeroPremier will provide food coupons for barbeque and other food, which will be provided by the Civil Air Patrol Squadron 147. Squadron 147 will conduct its commencement ceremony on Saturday in the AeroPremier’s new hangar. The new airport has paved the way for the Civil Air Patrol to reestablish the local squadron. Proceeds from food sales and sponsor donations benefit CAP Squadron 147.

AeroPremier will host an open house, providing tours of the new facility and complementary food for pilots flying in. Additional prizes and gifts will be awarded to visitors flying in on Friday and Saturday.

AeroPremier began operations from a temporary facility at Branson West earlier this year during construction of the new terminal and maintenance hangar. The Branson West Airport, which opened in December 2009, features a 5,000-foot concrete runway, with state of the art lighting and weather systems. An instrument approach is scheduled for 2011.
