Phoenix East Aviation orders DA42 NG

By Janice Wood · November 21, 2010 ·

Phoenix East Aviation, Inc. of Daytona Beach, Florida, has selected the Diamond Aircraft DA42 NG for its multi-engine training fleet.

With an initial order of two DA42 NGs, Phoenix East Aviation also plans to upgrade its existing DA42 TDIs with Austro Engine AE 300 powerplants and will eventually migrate its entire multi-engine fleet to the DA42 NG.

Ghassan Reslan, CEO of Phoenix East, accepted delivery of the first DA42 NG earlier this month at the AOPA Aviation Summit.

“The Diamond DA42 NG offers our students, who are pursuing professional pilot careers, the most advanced multi-engine training platform in the industry,” said Reslan. “With the DA42 NG’s state-of-the-art engines, airframe, and avionics technologies, our students will be well prepared for careers as jet pilots.”

The DA42 NG features an all-carbon airframe and FADEC controlled, single power lever, twin turbo-diesel Austro AE 300 engines, along with the Garmin G1000 integrated glass cockpit including the GFC 700 Automated Flight Control System and Synthetic Vision Technology (SVT).
