Flying Club takes off at Flabob

By Janice Wood · November 23, 2010 ·

The Flabob Aero Club has taken off at Flabob Airport (RIR) in Riverside, Calif. With plans to base the club on European models, the founders are expecting to host barbeques, flyouts, seminars and numerous other social events for members.

Included on the list of rentals are a 1946 J3-65 Cub, a 1962 Champion 7GC Citabria, a classic straightback 1959 Cessna 150, and a 2007 Tecnam P92 Echo Super. The Cub (pictured) and Tecnam are LSA.

Instructor members of the club will offer training for taildragger endorsements, sport pilot, private and higher certificates. The J3, 150 and Citabria will be available to club members for $58/hour, wet; the Tecnam is available for $75, wet. Instructor rates will be worked out between members and the CFI. Members will pay $25 per month or $250 per year, and if the member is under 20 years old, the rates are $15 per month or $150 per year; social and instructor members pay $50 per year.
