Sporty’s debuts Flight-Ready Backpack

By Janice Wood · December 6, 2010 ·

Sporty’s has introduced a backpack designed just for flying. The Flight Gear Backpack has room for two headsets, a GPS and a pocket specially designed for an iPad.

“We noticed that many of the flight students at our airport were using a backpack for a flight bag, and we knew we could create something better – a backpack specifically for pilots,” said Sporty’s Vice President John Zimmerman.

Sporty’s Flight Gear Backpack does more than just hold a lot of gear – it organizes everything a pilot carries in dedicated pockets, he noted. A padded compartment accommodates two headsets while a separate laptop compartment fits up to a 17” laptop. The top pocket is designed for a cell phone or iPod.

Quick-access external pockets for a flashlight, a fuel tester, and pens keeps these items ready for use. Plus Sporty’s MyBag system allows pilots to customize the backpack for every flight, with detachable accessories for a radio, sunglasses and more. This backpack can be further personalized with up to three initials of embroidery.

Price: $74.95. Optional accessories are also available including a Transceiver Holder for $14.95, a Sunglasses Holder for $9.95 and an ID Holder for $9.95.
