ZuluLog.com launches Version 4.0

By Janice Wood · December 14, 2010 ·

ZuluLog.com has released Version 4.0 of its free online pilot logbook software. Version 4, which is available for immediate use at ZuluLog.com, includes dozens of new features and enhancements, according to company officials.

For example, new customers will notice that the default pilot logbook layout closely mimics that of old-style paper logbooks, making the transition to online record-keeping virtually seamless, officials said. Existing customers will see new flexibility in customizing and analyzing their records for flights, aircraft, maintenance, and PIC currency.

Also, ZuluLog’s interface design team has enhanced the student/instructor linking module. This means that flight instructors will now have even more flexibility in entering and viewing their students’ flights, currency, endorsements, and ground instruction.

Finally, ZuluLog’s engineers have added support for more software packages to the flight and maintenance import screens, making it easier for new customers to switch from older software packages or proprietary spreadsheets.

“Over the last four years, we’ve seen a tremendous increase in our customer base, as pilots realize that paper logbooks and previous generation software packages are a relatively poor choice to protect their valuable records,” says Kelly Bonner, Vice President of Customer Relations. “In today’s market, it is vital for pilots to be able to produce accurate, verifiable, and secure flight records when applying for corporate or government jobs.”

Adds Kelly, “If you’re a pilot, your logbook is your career. We have a world-class data center and automatic database backups to protect your information. Not surprisingly, the industry is seeing a shift away from the previous generation of logbook software which stores information directly on customers’ vulnerable hard drives, and toward secure, online record keeping.”

ZuluLog’s standard logbook service is offered free to individual pilots. Because the software is Web-based, it runs in any modern browser with nothing to download, install, or upgrade. ZuluLog is compatible with PC, Mac, Linux, and smartphones.
