B-24 Bomber Crew Training Camp set

By Janice Wood · December 16, 2010 ·

For the third year in a row, the Collings Foundation is offering a program where you learn what it takes to train for and fly a mission aboard the B-24 Liberator “Witchcraft.”

Ever wonder what it must have been like when your Dad, grandfather or great grandfather went through World War II bomber flight training? Have you ever dreamed of becoming part of a bomber crew and flying your very own mission? Or do you just want to fire a machine gun and drop bombs (dummy) out of a legendary bomber?

The Collings Foundation will be offering its two-day training program in which you train for and fly a simulated World War II bombing mission. You will learn what is needed to properly function in the role of Navigator, Radio Operator, Gunner and Bombardier.

The program takes place at Stockton Municipal Airport/Stockton Field Aviation Museum Hangar in Calironia. The tentative dates are June 1-2. Cost is $3,900 per person. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required (non-refundable because the foundation must purchase supplies and equipment in advance).
