AvConnect teams with Spidertracks

By Janice Wood · December 20, 2010 ·

AvConnect has entered into a partnership with Spidertracks, an aircraft satellite tracking system, to offer for the first time an entirely automated and real-time pilot and aircraft records-keeping solution for pilots and aircraft owners.

Spidertracks is an integrated aircraft flight following solution providing both hardware, which combines GPS, antenna and satellite communication in one box, and web-based software to offer real-time, anywhere satellite tracking via the Iridium satellite network. The accuracy and reliability of Spidertracks has made it a global leader in general aviation aircraft and vehicle tracking, according to AvConnect officials.

AvConnect’s technology now works directly with Spidertracks, giving customers the benefit of receiving complete and immediate flight data directly into their account. Pilots no longer have to think about, or take the time, to log any flight-related information, company officials said. Every flight detail is recorded in real-time, which in turn automatically updates personal logbooks, aircraft status and flight entries, hobbs and tach times. AvConnect iPhone and iPad customers have the added bonus of accessing and managing their flight data, and viewing their flight track map via Google Earth from anywhere, at any time.
