Master Instructors LLC and its Board of Review recently accredited 11 CFIs as Master Instructors.
To help put this achievement in its proper perspective, there are approximately 93,000 CFIs in the United States. Fewer than 700 of them have earned Master accreditation, according to officials. The Master Instructor designation is a national accreditation recognized by the FAA and industry that is earned by a candidate through a rigorous process of continuing professional activity and peer review. Much like a flight instructor’s certificate, it must be renewed biennially.
Aviation educators who earned the Master title during December are: Richard Wright, Phoenix; Joel Weaner, Jacksonville, Florida; Stanley Swank II, Jacksonville, Florida; Robert Spera, Wise, Virginia; Randal Rowles, Fort Worth, Texas; Jelica Matic, Honolulu, Hawaii; Andrew Marinelli, Youngstown, Ohio; Lonnie Hilkemeier, Boulder, Colorado; Michael Maya Charles, Erie, Colorado; Gary Brossett, Midland, Georgia; and Terry Brandt, Avondale, Arizona.
