A/V-ator HD camera system adds GPS

By Janice Wood · January 6, 2011 ·

Light Sport Group’s A/V-ator HD aviation camera system now includes GPS data.

The A/V-ator HD records in-flight video at 1080P resolution, while recording audio with Light Sport Group’s proprietary noise-reduction circuitry featuring impedance-matching technology, company officials said. The new GPS model allows for speed, altitude, and position data to be encoded with the video. Included StoryTeller software allows users to play back flights, edit video, and share their videos online.

Data collected with the A/V-ator camera system is easily ported to mapping applications (such as Google Earth) for flight reviews utilizing Geo-specific photo and aviation chart technology, officials add.

Light Sport Group designs custom aviation audio and video recording systems for certified and experimental aircraft. For more information: LightSportGroup.com
