A new terminal has opened at Arlington Municipal Airport (GKY) in Texas, just in time for the 2011 Super Bowl.
Construction for the project started April 1, 2010, replacing the original, one-story terminal built in 1982. The new, two-story terminal is roughly 15,500 square feet in size and cost the city roughly $5.2 million.
Officials with the city of Arlington anticipate that the new terminal will bring more opportunities and growth to the city. Already airport business has increased since the opening of the new Cowboys Stadium in June 2009, which houses 100,000 fans.
The Arlington Municipal Airport, a full-service general aviation facility, is located in South Arlington, between Dallas and Fort Worth. For more information: Arlingtontx.gov/aviation
