Borescope with UV and white light LEDs debuts

By Janice Wood · February 2, 2011 ·

Spectronics Corp. recently introduced the CB-1000 COBRA multi-purpose borescope, which features a built-in UV LED for detection of fluid leaks and surface flaws and a white light LED for component inspection.

Spectronics CB-1000 Cobra Kit The CB-1000 COBRA has a 10mm, 24 inch “no-droop” shaft that maintains its position for easy access into hard-to-view areas, according to company officials, who note a clip-on inspection mirror provides the added capability of detecting flaws normally hidden from view.

Four AA batteries (included) power the two service-free, integrated solid-state LEDs. Fluorescence-enhancing glasses for use with UV light and fluorescent leak detection dyes are also included. Dyes are sold separately. All components are packed in a plastic carrying case with a foam insert.
