New hires, promotion at Sheltair

By Janice Wood · February 9, 2011 ·

Sheltair, a  network of FBOs with 13 locations throughout the U.S., has appointed Michael Lerma general manager of the Panama City FBO, while Gary Gutkowski has been named general manager of the Savannah FBO, and Bill Garghill has been named director of customer service for the FBO network.

Lerma, who previously held the position of general manager at the Sheltair Savannah location, was instrumental in the construction build-out and completion of that facility, according to company officials. He has almost two decades of aviation experience and has spent seven of those years with Sheltair.

Gutkowski will replace Lerma in Savannah. He has 32 years of aviation experience, including 11 years as a general manager for national FBO chains.

Garghill will join Sheltair as the director or customer service for the entire FBO network. He has many years of experience in the aviation industry in customer relations, as well as quality assurance, line service and repair compliance.

Sheltair is a division of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida based Holland Sheltair Aviation Group. The company provides services to the aviation community through their network of 13 FBOs throughout Florida, New York and Georgia, as well as through their properties division and construction division covering 19 airports. Sheltair employs more than 300 people.
