EPIC Aviation and BP finalize sale

By Janice Wood · February 27, 2011 ·

The sale of BP Products North America Inc.’s interest in EPIC Aviation to Downstream Aviation has been finalized. BP and Downstream have entered into an agreement that will allow EPIC to continue to operate under the Air BP brand for service to the general aviation sector in the United States and Canada.

EPIC, operating as Air BP Aviation Services, supports the fuel and business needs of a branded dealer network of nearly 400 FBOs in the US and Canada. The management team and supporting staff continue to be based out of Salem, Ore.

“Downstream Aviation is confident about the future of the industry and EPIC’s integral role within both general and commercial aviation. Our team has extensive experience that serves as a valuable resource to our dealers. Downstream intends to continue EPIC’s long-standing commitment to its customers, business partners and the industry. We look forward to bringing new dynamic offerings to the market,” explains Scott Walker, CEO EPIC Aviation.

Downstream Aviation is a company based in Dallas,  whose primary focus is acquiring and operating companies in the aviation fuel segment of the petroleum industry. Downstream currently operates in the US, Canada and Asia Pacific.
