By Janice Wood · March 2, 2011 ·

Savannah-based Gulfstream Aerospace is the recipient of the coveted Epps Aviation Award presented annually by the Atlanta Aero Club for outstanding aviation achievement for accomplishments that benefit the Georgia aviation community.

The award was presented during the regular bi-monthly meeting of the club, which featured Delta’s President Ed Bastian as guest speaker. Epps Award Presented

The Epps Award is named for the aviation pioneering family who for three generations has contributed significantly to the aerospace industry in both Atlanta and the State of Georgia.

Gulfstream has been noted by the Atlanta Aero Club for various achievements including the introduction of the new intercontinental business jet the Gulfstream 650; expansion of the facilities in Savannah; and the creation of more than 1,000 new jobs.
