Million Air recently celebrated the grand opening of its newest FBO at the Yuma International Airport (YUM) in Arizona.
Freeman Holdings of Arizona owns the franchised FBO. It has invested approximately $2.2 million in the construction of a new 9,600-square-foot facility which will include standard Million Air amenities – coffee bar, theatre room, flight planning room, multi-media conference room and a Jet-a-way Café.
The investment also included site improvements to the 8,800 square feet of hangar space and 1 million square feet of ramp space, in addition to the purchase of equipment to service everything from single engine pistons to Antonovs. The facility also services Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner and the 747-8 as they undergo hot weather testing in Yuma.
Long runways and expansive ramp space for military and corporate aircraft attracted Freeman Holdings to Yuma. “We’re excited about the growth potential for this airport,” said Scott Freeman, CEO. “Yuma’s Marine Corps Air Station, the agricultural growers who frequent the airport, the defense contractors and the active general aviation community all add up to a diverse set of clientele we’re excited to serve.”
