Severen joins US Aviation Group

By Janice Wood · March 10, 2011 ·

US Aviation Group based at Denton Municipal Airport (DTO) in the Dallas area has appointed Scott Severen as Director of Business Development, responsible for overseeing the expansion of GA maintenance and avionics installations activity, developing FBO services, and USAG’s imminent 135 charter operations, as well as establishing USAG as a national and regional center for Light-Sport Aircraft maintenance, according to officials with the company.

Scott Severen, USAG “We will be offering factory authorized service for the majority of LSA in the marketplace,” said Severen. “USAG’s central location in the United States makes it a prime facility for meeting the critical maintenance issues facing LSA owners. The requirements are quite different from aircraft certified under Part 23.”

A graduate of the University of North Texas, Severen was a charter member on the FAA committee that created the light sport regulation. He led Team Aircraft in Tennessee for several years prior to relocating back to the Dallas area, and served as head of marketing and sales for IndUS Aviation, where he remains involved as an advisor. He holds private pilot and A&P certificates.
