CAV Aerospace is showcasing a Beechcraft Baron with flight into known ice (FIKI) capabilities at this week’s Sun ’n Fun fly-in. The Baron 58’s ice protection features CAV’s proprietary weeping wings TKS system.
“Even though we are coming out of the winter icing season, CAV Aerospace is available year-round to install our proven ice protection system in a wide variety of general aviation aircraft,” said CAV President Kevin Hawley.
CAV was also recently approved for Cessna Caravan and Quest Kodiak FIKI. CAV’s TKS systems provide anti-icing protection by exuding a measured amount of glycol-based ice protection fluid through precision laser-drilled microscopic holes in wing leading edges fashioned of titanium. There is also a dispersion mechanism for propellers.
