On October 29, the Greenville Downtown Airport (GMU) will host the Southeast Aviation Show, sponsored by the South Carolina Aviation Association (SCAA).
The event, which will showcase the latest aviation products, a static aircraft display and educational sessions, is open to the public for a $5 admission fee. Companies that sell aviation related products can exhibit and possibly host a 20-minute educational session.
“For 28 years, the Northwest area of the United States has had an aviation conference and trade show that attracts more than 10,000 people a year,” according SCAA President Eric Ramsdell. “The SCAA wants to provide a show for aviation enthusiasts in our region.”
“The aviation community in the Southeast is very strong and we expect a great turnout for the first show,” stated Joe Frasher, GMU’s Airport Director. “If it takes off, as planned, we’d love to grow the event each year. GMU is within walking distance of the Carolina First Center, which is a huge conference center and in the future we would love to have the Southeast Aviation Show grow into that facility.”
