New engineering manager at Twin Commander

By Janice Wood · April 10, 2011 ·

Levan Tabidze has been named Engineering Manager for Twin Commander Aircraft in Creedmoor, North Carolina.

As engineering manager he is responsible for providing a worldwide fleet of owners and operators of multiengine piston and turboprop Twin Commanders with spare parts, upgrades, and technical support.

Tabidze emigrated to the United States in 1993 from the Republic of Georgia in the former Soviet Union. He is an aeronautical engineering graduate of the Technical University of Georgia in Tbilisi. After earning his degree he worked for several Soviet aircraft manufacturers including the Sukhoi Company and Yakolev. When the Soviet Union began to disintegrate in the early 1990s, he and his family moved to the United States, where Tabidze worked for the Luscombe Aircraft Corporation, Tiger Aircraft, Sino-Swearengen, and Sierra Nevada, a special-missions-aircraft modification firm.

Tabidze will participate in the Twin Commander University, a biennial Twin Commander owner-operators conference, scheduled for April 28-30 at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa in Bonita Springs, Florida.
