Bun Air Corp., a full-service FBO and aircraft management company at Pennsylvania’s Bedford County Airport (HMZ), has joined the Avfuel network.
“Bun Air Corp. evaluated numerous fuel distributors. Avfuel had the best combination of price, product and service,” said Bun Air President Jim DeLong. “The people I dealt with at Avfuel were always courteous and continue to provide attention to our needs. In addition, their pilot rewards program, AVTRIP, is the most popular among pilots and gives us an advantage when selling fuel to transient aircraft.”
Founded in 1947, Bun Air originated as a training service for GIs returning home from the war, earning its moniker from one of the founders, Frank “Bunny” Grazier. In 1956, the service combined with the Blair County Airport to become Blair-Bedford Airways. The service became Bun Air Corp. in 1974 and operates not only as a full-service FBO but also as an authorized Cessna Service Center. Additional services include flight training, aircraft sales and corporate aircraft management.
Bun Air facilities include a flight planning room and recently renovated pilot lounge, a library, and a flat-screen satellite television. A conference room is available for meetings. Pilots and passengers can take advantage of courtesy cars for local travel to areas such as the Bedford Springs Resort (rated the #1 golf course in Pennsylvania and the #45 golf course in the United States by Golfweek Magazine). Enterprise Rental cars are available for long-term travel.
