Crownair Aviation celebrates 60th anniversary

By Janice Wood · May 2, 2011 ·

Crownair Aviation in San Diego is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.

Since 1951, Crownair Aviation has provided customers with aircraft maintenance, avionics and fuel. The key to Crownair’s longevity and reputation is the experience and expertise of its employees, according to company officials, who note that Crownair’s team of professionally trained technicians have over 500 years of combined experience. The company operates locations at San Diego’s Montgomery Field (MYK) and Carlsbad Airport (CRQ) in Carlsbad, Calif.

“I am proud to be a part of the Crownair team during its 60th Anniversary,” says Ray Richmond, General Manager. “We have come a long way in just the past year and we believe it shows. We have incorporated some important procedural changes, upgraded facilities, and provided training opportunities for every employee.”

Dave Ryan, President of Crownair Aviation, believes Crownair has a bright and promising future. “With the organizational changes and the professionalism of our team, Crownair is positioned to embrace the opportunities ahead. Building on its legacy over the past 60 years, Crownair will continue to uphold sound business practices and focus on world class service, while our improvements will serve to enhance our customer’s experience.”

In celebration of its diamond anniversary, Crownair recently unveiled its 60th Anniversary edition of its website. The new look takes you back to the early years of aviation, but with modern technology and various social media outlets to suit different user needs, officials said.

In the past few years, Crownair has also increased its involvement within the local aviation and residential community, including the Southern California Aviation Association (SCAA), a non?profit regional aviation group associated with the National Business Aviation Association. The organization is proactive in addressing concerns impacting the region’s airports  including safety and operations; and promoting education on the importance of business aviation to our communities, companies, and the general public.
