Sutterer joins West Star board

Kurt Sutterer has joined the Board of Directors of West Star Aviation.

“Kurt brings a deep, broad and respected knowledge of the aviation industry to our Board of Directors and will help shape the growth of West Star Aviation,” said Robert Rasberry, West Star’s CEO. “His industry management experience, involvement with respected aviation associations like NBAA, along with his role as chairman of NATA for the 2009 term will certainly add a measurable value to our executive level guidance team.”

Sutterer recently retired as president of Midcoast Aviation and head of Jet Aviation’s MRO & Completions lines of business in North America, after 29 years of service with the company. Sutterer started his professional aviation career at St. Louis-based Midcoast Aviation in 1981 and held positions of increasing responsibility, ranging from Inspector to Manager of Technical Services, Vice President, and General Manager of Midcoast Aviation operations before his promotion to president in 2004.

West Star Aviation specializes in the repair and maintenance of airframes, windows, and engines; as well as major modifications, avionics installation and repair, interior refurbishment, surplus avionics sales, accessory services, paint and parts. In addition to facilities in East Alton, Ill; Grand Junction, Colo; Columbia, SC; and Dallas, West Star Aviation provides maintenance operations at Aspen-Pitkin County Airport located in Aspen, Colo.
