Tuskegee Airmen set tone for movie

By Janice Wood · May 10, 2011 ·

A movie, “Rise Above,” in now being filmed in Cleveland, Ohio, by Hemlock Films for use in a mobile theater that will tour the country 42 weeks a year, using the story of the Tuskegee Airmen to inspire today’s youth, according to a blog at Cleveland.com. The movie features Col. Charles McGee, who flew 409 combat missions during World War II, who tells those watching: “Dream your dream, but be determined to get that accomplished and not let adversity or setbacks along the way keep you from continuing your journey. It does take a little work, and it’s not just handed to you. I like to tell young folks that what’s going on in this country 20 years from now is going to entirely depend on what they’re prepared and capable of doing.”
