UL Power Aero Engines expands into North America

By Janice Wood · May 10, 2011 ·

Belgium-based UL Power Aero Engines has appointed UL Power of North America as its exclusive distributor in the United States and Canada.

“UL Power of North America will enable us to greatly expand our sales and service across North America,” said Nicolas Josson of UL Power Aero Engines, which manufactures engines for Light Sport Aircraft and experimentals.

“I am delighted with this opportunity to be a part of the evolution of the aircraft industry in North America,” said Robert Helms, General Manager for UL Power of North America. “We have exciting plans to take advantage of the tremendous work UL Power Aero Engines has done to create a new and exciting advanced technology engine, that will benefit the performance of light aircraft. We are proud to announce our first OEM relationship with Zenith Aircraft Co., and we look forward to working with other manufacturers, as well as individual builders, to bring their dreams to fruition with a stronger, lighter, and more efficient powerplant installation.”

UL Power Aero Engines nv is the manufacturer of modern technology, direct drive, air cooled, multipoint electronic injection (FADEC) aircraft engines. The current product range includes flat-four engines of 97 to 130 hp.

UL Power of North America is an independently owned and operated company with the exclusive right to distribute and service UL Power Aero Engines nv products in the United States and Canada. It will distribute the engines through dealers (including Fly With Gus of Edgewater, Florida) and through airframe manufacturers in conjunction with full “ready to mount” firewall-forward packages.
