IMC Clubs launches Knowledge Drive

By Janice Wood · May 19, 2011 ·

IMC Club International has launched “Knowledge Drive” in its Aviation Knowledge Base at IMCClubs.org, a library of a “real life” type questions and answers for GA pilots.

Every question is routed to a CFI for an answer, which subsequently is recorded in the database. All questions being asked are screened automatically for availability of the subject already answered.

This IMC Club initiative is sponsored exclusively by BrightLine Bags, Inc. This bag, initially introduced to the market in 2007, has become the #1-selling flight bag in the United States, and is used by recreational, commercial and military pilots in 65 countries worldwide, club officials said.

Pilots asking questions will be rewarded with an entry to a drawing for a free BrightLine flight bag. Drawing will take place on June 11. All participants will also receive a coupon for a discount from BrightLine Aviation. Pilots can enter the contest by asking as many aviation related questions as they want, therefore increasing their chances to win a free BrightLine Bag.

“This database is question driven, not textbook driven,” said Radek Wyrzykowski, President of IMC Club. “Safety and proficiency through exchange of experience is one of our primary objectives of the IMC Club. Practical aspects of a flight are as important, if not more so, as any textbook knowledge. I hope this free knowledge source for pilots and student pilots alike will grow by knowledge contribution of many experienced instructors as well as pilots wanting to know more.”

The IMC Club is a membership-based, non-profit organization focused on instrument rated pilots and flight instructors, with a network of chapters throughout the nation. The club’s intent is to create a community of pilots in order to share information, provide recognition, foster communications, promote safety and build proficiency in instrument flying.
